Most apps do one of these. MyDivingSites does all three and more, and they reinforce each other.
The map is built by the divers on it. Anyone can add a public dive site for free, or post a spot nobody has written up yet as a lead for someone else to go answer. Advanced adds private sites for the ones you'd rather not broadcast.
What you log is what the next diver plans against. Visibility, conditions, and what you saw are fields on the entry you were already filling in — one diver's Saturday becomes the next diver's sanity check on the forecast.
Sharing is a click, or a full write-up. Quick Tick a dive in seconds or fill in every detail; either way it feeds the site's shared data, and every entry keeps its own visibility.
Paper logbooks fade, get soaked, and go missing between trips. Vendor apps are incompatible walled gardens — one per computer, and none of them talk to each other. Gear tracking is mostly non existent in other apps. MyDivingSites is one comprehensive, cohesive log: it reconciles Shearwater, Suunto, and Mares computers into a single history, and grows with your diving experience instead of making you start over on a new app. It gives you one place to track your $1000's worth of gear, and it nags you (nicely) when it's time to service it.
Agency-specific PADI, NAUI, and SSI formats — start with what you were trained on. Yours not there, message us, we'll build it.
Quick Tick: a casual form to log fast and still feed the shared site data.
Full detail when it matters — computer data, gear, species, visibility, comments.
Bluetooth sync for Shearwater (Suunto and Mares in progress), plus UDDF, DL7, FIT, and Apple Health import. Yours not there, message us, we'll build it.
Equipment usage tracking per dive or time, you choose, with separate VIP and hydro test cycles for cylinders and an insurance claim sheet built from your purchase receipts and photos. It nags you (nicely) when service is due, instead of relying on a shop to tell you.
Free logging, site discovery, and conditions scoring. Upgrade only when you hit a real ceiling.

Set up with us, not self-serve — see how it works
The web app and the mobile app share the same account and the same features — log a dive from your laptop after the trip, or from the boat on your phone. The one thing that's mobile-only is Bluetooth dive computer sync, since it needs your phone's Bluetooth radio.
The mobile app is currently in beta — we're actively recruiting testers.Global conditions coverage means you can check real tide, current, and weather data before you book a trip somewhere new — not just your home dive sites. Download a trip area before you lose signal, log dives offline, and sync automatically when you're back on the grid.
Built for liveaboards and remote destinations. This platform is still being shaped, and a lot of what's already in it started as a diver telling us what was missing. We're small enough to change our minds and build what you actually need — so message us and we're happy to work with you on it.
Yes. Bring your history in with UDDF, DL7, or Garmin FIT files, or sync it from Apple Health, and pull new dives from a Shearwater over Bluetooth in the mobile app. Dives from different computers are reconciled into one log, so switching doesn't mean starting over. If your computer or log format isn't covered, message us and we'll build it.
The web and mobile apps share the same features and account — log dives, browse sites, and see conditions from either. Bluetooth dive computer sync currently requires the mobile app, since it uses your phone's Bluetooth radio.
Yes — the Basic tier is free with no time limit: public dive site creation, dive logging, a 3-day conditions forecast, social dive sharing, and certification storage. Paid tiers add extended forecasts, agency logbook formats, private sites, Bluetooth sync, and offline mode.
It depends where you dive. MyDivingSites started in the Puget Sound and the rest of the Pacific Northwest, and that's where most of the sites, dive logs, and condition reports are today. Elsewhere the map is thinner, and it's a small, early community. Every site and lead on it was added by a diver, so if your local sites aren't there yet you can add them for free or post a lead for the next diver to investigate. The live counts above show how big it is right now.
Pro Pack is built for working divemasters and instructors, especially freelancers working across multiple dive shops. It includes an encrypted client CRM, branded dive briefings, calendar scheduling, and credential verification. It's currently sales-assisted rather than self-serve.
“We built this because our own logbooks and knowledge were stuck in vendor silos. Every site has a story. Every diver has advice worth sharing. Our goal is to make those connections possible.”
